October post
Lately Lucy- the 4 year old I nanny- has been asking me frequently when Halloween is. We decorated the house with pumpkins, witches, bats, ghost (you get the idea...) at the beginning of October, and from her perspective Halloween should be here any day. Enough waiting all ready!
So, help her grasp the concept of how for away Halloween is we made a calendar for October, a countdown chain and a countdown paper-thing (a very technical term I know).
Check them out.

Halloween Cookies
Today is Columbus Day- aka no school for elementary school.
I had all four kiddos home today so we decided to make Halloween Sugar Cookies
We made our cookies out of batts, cats, pumpkins and tomb stones. And decorated them with orange frosting and Halloweenie sprinkles.
While we waited for the cookies in the oven we watched "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown."
It definitely felt like October today!
Happy Columbus Day!

Tonight After work Andrew and I made homemade Broccoli Cheddar Soup with homemade Bread bowels.
Believe it or not, it was SUPER easy. We're talking 40 minutes. I can do that!
